Tactical/Defensive Rifle Class

This Course introduces students to the effective use of the semi-automatic modern sporting rifle (The AR-15 & similar rifles). The curriculum is specifically geared toward the civilian who wishes to learn how to defend themselves and their loved ones inside and outside the home. This is not a bullseye-target-shooting or precision rifle class. We will be working from 50 yards in, learning basic tactical/defensive shooting techniques.

Upon completion of the PFTI Basic Rifle Course, or demonstrated proficiency of safety and marksmanship, the student will be eligible to enroll into this course.

This course is 8 hours long and will cover:

• A review of general firearm & range safety protocols

• A review of rifle marksmanship fundamentals

• Variable shooting positions

• Shooting from cover

• Reloading the rifle under duress

• Shooting during movement

• Live Fire Exercises

Cost is $100.00 per student

​

NOTE**  THIS COURSE IS PHYSICALLY DEMANDING.

​

Each Student will need to bring their own rifle, 6 reliable magazines, 180 rounds of ammunition for their rifle, Ear & Eye protection, a writing implement & notebook, drinking water.

Lunch is one hour and there are a couple of places within 10 minutes drive of the range, but you are welcome to bring your own.

​

Dress in layers appropriate for outdoor activities.  (NO SHORTS)
